To add an herbal flavor to the masala chai, add a few sprigs of mint or basil or one stalk of chopped lemongrass
For a non-caffeinated herbal spice tea, mix sprigs of mint, basil or lemon balm with ½ teaspoon of Pondicheri Chai Masala and 4 cups of boiling water. Steep for 15-20 minutes and strain
For a low caffeine tea, add a pinch of the chai masala to green tea leaves
