Pomegrante martini - ruby rich & delicious!
Makes 2 cocktails
12 ounces sugar
12 ounces pomegranate juice
4 ounces (8 tablespoons) vodka
2 ounces (4 tablespoons) pomegranate syrup
2 ounces (4 tablespoons) lime juice
Blueberries or fresh berry for garnish
Place the sugar and pomegranate juice in heavy bottomed pot. Turn heat to medium and slowly bring to a boil. Heating too fast will burn the sugar and not allow time for thickening. Mix periodically to ensure no clumps of sugar. Turn heat off and let it cool.
Measure each ingredient and put them in the shaker with ice. Shake until shaker feels icy. Strain the cocktail into two coupes.
Garnish fresh blueberries or choice fruit. Drop the blueberries in whole or skewer on a toothpick.
Fresh squeezed citrus in shaken drinks is preferred.
POM Wonderful is a great brand of pomegranate juice.
No berries in the house? Try an orange wheel, lime wheel, pomegranate, or any other fresh fruit.
Adjust sweetness with more or less pomegranate syrup.
We prefer drinking the Pomtini up, but if you prefer your drinks served on the rocks — go for it!
Don’t like vodka? Switch it out for gin!
